So, I see Chadwick spilled the beans! I guess he snuck on line while I was napping. Yes, I've been a little under the weather lately and am having some problems, but I'm a fighter and am still hanging in there. So don't fret, the Princess still has the energy to share her wisdom with you. Today's lesson, milk it while you can!
Ever notice when you're not feeling well, how much love and attention you get? I mean, I get love and attention anyway, but when I'm not feeling so well, I get extra special attention. So you got to milk it while you can. For example, they put me on this bland, really bland, diet for a while. Well after three days of eating the same bland dog food, I was over it! I mean mom doesn't eat the same thing every single day, why should I? So you know what, I refused to eat it for a day or so. And guess what? The next morning, I got a fresh grilled chicken breast! Now I don't have to tell you how much better that is than the dog food. After a couple days of the chicken breast, I grew tired of it too. So once again, I stopped eating. And you know what, I got steak on Saturday night! Yuuuummmmmyyyyy! But I'm getting tired of the steak already. I'm thinking now maybe, I'll get upgraded to fillet mignon. Preferably served on a silver platter with a little Cabernet sauce. Sound delicious doesn't it? But hey, I deserve it.
So my advice to you, milk it when you can. But remember don't go overboard. A little fun and games is fine, but you don't want to toy with their emotions. You know how emotionally fragile people can be.
Hugs and kisses to all my fans. Keep the love coming. I really appreciate all your support during my time of need. Feel free to send me some fillet mignon or have a pizza delivered right to my door. Thoughts and love are great, but good food is the best.
This blog is my musings and observations about love, life and the stupid things people do. I'm happy to impart my years of wisdom on, to people and hounds alike.

The Princess Needs Your Prayers
Hey, it's me Chadwick. I know I'm not supposed to be on this blog and the Princess would kill me if she knew I was, so please don't tell her. But I know the Princess has a lot of fans out there and she needs your support right now. See she's not feeling too well. She's been down and out for several days. She was starting to feel a little better, but now she's not.
As you know, she's no spring chicken but she is a fighter. She's one tough cookie and she's trying to hang in there. So please send her all your good thoughts and good vibes. I need her to get better again. I know she doesn't seem to like me much, but I like her and I need my seeing eye dog. I mean I've been bumping in to things right and left the last few days.
Thank in advance for your support. I'm hoping one day soon, she'll be growling at me again. I actually kind of miss her picking on me.

Check out the new pics!
My mom just got some old film developed and found these pictures! Don't I look cute sleeping? Mom tells me I look like a little angel when I sleep and I have to say I agree with her. When mom's right, she's right. There are few more really cute ones of me, but I don't want to post them all just yet. I wouldn't want to overwhelm you with my cuteness. I apologize for making you look at Chadwick, but I'm trying to be nice. He begged and begged me to post one of him too and he caught me in a weak moment, so I agreed to do it. I'll take it down in a few weeks. He'll never know. Well enjoy these pictures. More to come soon.
By the way, I'm working on a website! I'm hoping to have it up and running soon. It's just hard to get it done with my busy schedule. I mean between this blog, eating, napping and bossing mom and Chadwick around, I don't have a whole lot of spare time. But I am working on it when I can and hope to get it up soon. You'll be able to see more pictures of me and buy some cool stuff. I'll let you know when it's up and I do hope you'll check it out.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I can't believe I almost forgot to wish all my fellow hounds a Happy Valentine's Day! Or should I say, Happy Valenhound's Day?! teee, heee, heee. I can be so clever sometimes.
2nd Fiddle Wants to Know...
I got my first email question!
"Help. We have a new hound in the house and I just don't know what to do! I'm scared he'll get all the attention and I won't be the favorite one anymore. Should I be mean and try and scare him off?" 2nd fiddle
Is he being mean to you? If not, don't be mean to him. Do you know his background yet? Is he a puppy, did he come from a shelter? You need to try and understand him a little. He may be happy to just have a home finally. I don't think you have to worry about playing 2nd fiddle. Maybe your parents got him so you would have a friend to play with when they aren't around.
When I first came into my home, I was the "new dog." Sherlock had been in the house for 5 years already. But you know what, he wasn't mean to me. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. You could do the same thing for your new hound. Sherlock was my buddy and I owe him a lot. I still miss him everyday. :(
I say give it some time. Get to know the new hound and see how it goes. You may just wind up becoming best buds!
Please keep me posted.

Abbyisms
I'm in a reflective mood today, so I've been doing some thinking. I've decided to pass on some of my thoughts to you, my loyal fans. Let's call these "Abbyisms."
Abbyism #1 - A fool and his money are a hound's best friend.
Abbyism #12 - Behind every great man, there's a great hound!
Abbyism #15 - Don't bite the hand that feeds you, unless it's trying to push you off the couch!
Abbyism #18 - If at first you don't succeed, lie down and nap.
I hope you enjoy these. More to come.

Allow me to introduce myself
My name is Abigail, although personally I prefer Princess Abby. I live, make that rule, a household in Los Angeles. I have a big backyard to play in, a couch to sleep on, and lots of love.
I'm on my 3rd, yes 3rd, male companion. My first bud was Sherlock and he taught me everything. I was just six weeks old when I met him. He was five, so he knew everything. He took me under his wing and looked after me until the day he died. He died a week before his 13th birthday. That was almost 5 years ago and I still miss him. He was a special dude and for 8 years, we spent every minute of every day together. I was really lonely after I lost my best bud. So mom decided I needed another friend. In walks Brutus. Now Brutus was nothing like Sherlock. He'd had a really rough life but he didn't want to share what he knew of the world. He said his past was just too ugly and he wanted to forget it. He was just grateful to have nice place to sleep and people who loved him. He followed my mom around everywhere. He would never let her out of his sight. At first I was a little jealous, well a lot jealous. But then I realized he didn't grow up getting the kind of love and attention that I did, so I let him have the spotlight.
I wound up learning a lot from him. I learned how to be grateful for the things I had. I'd grown up having it all so I didn't really appreciate anything. Brutus however was grateful for everything. I learned that the more love I give, the more I get back in return. He was a very special friend but unfortunately he got really sick and our time together was cut short.
My heart ached after Brutus was gone. What was wrong with me that my two best buds had to leave me? As I sat feeling sorry for myself, mom pulled up in the Jeep and out jumped Chadwick.
Now let me tell you about Chadwick. Chadwick walked in like he owned the place. He walked around like he was royalty or something. I don't know who he thought he was, but I quickly put him in his place. I established myself as the alpha dog in this household. He challenged me at first, but he finally acquiesced. Now Chadwick is a pain in my ass. I mean that literally. You see he's blind. I don't just mean he can't see well, the dog has no eyes. It's kind of freaky if you ask me. It is kind of funny though to watch him bump into things. He gets around by his sense of smell. Now let me translate that for you. It means he walks around with his snout stuck up my butt! Now you may laugh and you may think it's cute, but let me tell you, it's annoying as hell! I'll admit, he's quite a looker but boy does he bug. He gets on my nerves to no end.
So the reason I tell you all this is so that you'll realize how much experience I have with love, with friendship, with life. I know I'm not getting any younger and I realize that after twelve years in this crazy world it's time I do something to give back. So I've decided my legacy will be to pass on my hound wisdom to all who are willing to listen. So please read my ramblings, my rants, my observations. You just might learn something.
